C215 Speaks Beauty

C215, a street artist who’s really Christian Guemy (I wrote about him before), has a show that opened last week at the Shooting Gallery and will continue through January 7, 2012. You can see his gorgeous pieces for “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” at their site. Christian is another artist who believes that the work that he does allows us to view our urban space as bursts of conversation and thought through each street art that shows up. It’s a silent conversation that is meant to open up our minds so that we think a little more deeply about our world and how we live in it. The video interview for savoirchanger.org is in French, but it does have English subtitles below, and should be watched because he has some great thoughts to share. The most important being that he is part of the artist group who seek to beautify the world and put some humanity back into the conversation.

It’s time for the mainstream to realize that artists have an immense depth to contribute to the dialogue of life, and may be a key to giving us back our humanity. My first post of the day shows that we really need it back as soon as possible, before others destroy the world for us all. Just a thought…
