The Space Shuttle Era Ends – Final Touchdown

“Mission complete, Houston. After serving the world for over 30 years, the space shuttle found its place in history and has come to a final stop.” – Commander Chris Ferguson

The end has finally come for the space shuttle program. At 5:58 am EDT, Atlantis landed after spending its final 12 days, 18 hours, 28 minutes and 50 seconds in outer space. I’m sure her 4-member flight crew and all of NASA are feeling the emotions right now. Thank you all for 30 amazing years, and countless memorable moments. We couldn’t have done it without you, and can’t wait to see the next chapter in the space program. We’ll be waiting with bated breath for more discoveries and new beginnings!
