Don’t Make The American Dream An Oxymoron

We have walked on the moon. We created a machine that allowed us to fly like the birds. We have always done things bigger because our dreams have always been big. So what happened?

Now we are glued to the happenings of bachelors and bachelorettes. We follow the latest trends to see if we can ride on its coattails. We reinvent the already invented to see if we can eek out a few more years to maximize profit. We thrive on being the same, yet revile societies that really are homogenous. We strangle creativity and thinking outside of the box, unless some guru tells us that we need to do it because it’s the latest craze. Something is not making a whole lot of sense here. So what happened?

We built this country from our dreams. We need to ignore those who say that it can’t be done. If someone tells us to stop dreaming, then we have to ask why? Why shouldn’t we keep dreaming bigger and better dreams? After all, our biggest dreams created a country. We just need to do what is calling to us and prove that it can be done, through passion and dedication. We need to go back to the philosophy that the American Dream isn’t only about physical ownership. It’s also got to inspire intellectual freedom.

  • Let’s look at the possibilities of new untested opportunities.
  • Let’s listen to advice, but only follow it when it makes sense.
  • Let’s become inspired by what we find on undiscovered paths.
  • Let’s open our hearts to it when the unexpected beckons.
  • Let’s learn something new and use it in our daily lives.
  • Let’s reach out to one another and help create…everything.
  • Let’s turn our backs on NO, and simply innovate a YES.

Think of those pencils as your dreams waiting to be drawn so that they can become reality. There are enough oxymorons to mock. Don’t help others turn the American Dream into another one. Just simply dream, then do. It’s supposed to be what we’re good at, right?
