I just saw a post on PSFK that was eye-opening and yet not at all surprising: There was more data transmitted over the Net in 2010 than the entire history up until 2010 together! The numbers that Kirk is quoting is so mind-boggling, and shows the importance of the Net to our world. And it’s also imperative to realize that the connections we make today are still only made by a small fraction of all of the people living on this planet. So, we need to protect this most vital asset to humankind and make sure that everyone has access to it equally.
