Dear Politics Of Money…

My Inbox has been exploding since I started to voice my opinions out loud in the form of petition support and editorial writing. Somehow my actions have given so many other groups the impression that it is now ok to target and (try to) use me for their own personal campaigns, as they do the rest of the citizens of the world. Well, as one of those people, I’m saying that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. First, it was all of those marketers out there with a product or service to sell (which, by the way, have continue unabated, despite my spam blocks). Now that we’re in another political season, it is reaching a point of absolute horror. We try to block you, and you change methods. We unsubscribe, but it continues as though we never even wrote. We write scathing letters that just fly over your heads. Seriously, what is it going to take to get you to understand??? Yeah, the lack of engagement from the public (or flat out ignoring you) just leads to this…

So, let me make this clear in a public way:

  • No, I won’t contribute so that you can buy more political messaging ads to win or protect your jobs (even if you are a “good” person).
  • No, I don’t support you without question, just because you and I agreed on 1 topic. Your records rarely show me that you’re consistent throughout your career.
  • No, you can’t threaten me into giving money to you by using some ridiculous report card method. I don’t even want to go to your school.
  • No, I don’t believe in Republicans or Democrats in politics. You all are the same. That’s probably why no one’s engaging in your selfish campaigns.
  • If you really believe in your platform, then stop selling out the world just to get the big win for your team. No, your team isn’t my team. As a matter of fact, I refuse to join a team – only collaborations that seek to make the world better and more equal for us all.

So, dear Democratic Party, stop demanding that I give you money that you’re just going to waste on endless political campaigns that do nothing to fix our very real problems. Dear Politics of Money, stop messing around with OUR world and game the systems so that you’re the only winners. This isn’t some lame marketing campaign. It’s life, and it’s precious for each and every one of us on this planet.

This is my message to you, provided free of charge. Your game is over, because we all lost by blindly supporting your teams. There are no more teams…only change makers who see what this world really needs – and it’s not you if you’re not on board.

This is what we need (to start):

  • An established set of civil liberties that cannot be taken away because they get in the way of doing business as usual. Free means free, not be grateful that you can still see the sky.
  • An educational system that teaches us everything we’ll need to be well-rounded global citizens that choose to improve our world.
  • Institutions that can stand on their own integrity without being compromised by favors and money.
  • A legal system that truly stands for fair and equal justice for every individual, with no categorization of their physical, philosophical, or fiscal characteristics.
  • A political system that is based on creating a system for the greater good, with no ideologies to obsess about.
  • Businesses and careers that are not blindly adherent to only fiscal pursuits for the good of the individual, but also for the public good to further responsible innovation opportunities that better the entire world.
  • Real direction on how we can all work and live together harmoniously yet prosperously.
  • People being given equal opportunity no matter what their stations in life.
  • Relearning that morality has little to do with empty religious rhetoric when it’s absent of holistic actions that epitomize the goodness of spirituality.
  • We all learn to live by the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

Let us have this real conversation in public with one another, and maybe we stand a chance of fixing this broken world. And while you’re at it, can we please have some politicians who are not politicians, but public servants looking out for the greater global good without thoughts of finances or favors? Do any of you hear me???
