So, Reddit led me to this video of Rob Paravonian talking about the same emotions as the equally hilarious original comment by SllyStringBandit:
Now, since I’m not a musician, I hadn’t realized just how much these notes are used in a huge number of songs that cross over a ton of genres. Though these sentiments are pretty hilarious, I totally feel for musicians as well. Actually, I feel for every creative person because we’re all inspired by someone else. Original content? Uh huh, right. We try, and there might be some variations, but they all can be traced back in time from some other source… like Pachelbel.
p.s. Now that you’ve heard this rant, don’t topics like copyright and their corresponding endless shackles of laws seem really ridiculous?
