The colors of fall are always among the most beautiful, and this landscape art by Lana Shuttleworth is indeed gorgeous because of the vivid colors. Can you believe that this piece, as are the others in the series Ethnomorphic Landscapes, is made from cut up traffic cones. First of all, I didn’t realize that the cones had such a variety of shades and tones. But clearly, Lana has managed to create a beautiful puzzle made from pieces of used cones. There is nothing like the aging process to create a spectrum of choices in textures as well as color. Take a look at Lana’s site to see more of her work. And if you’re in the Los Angeles area, go to the George Billis Gallery to see these brilliant landscapes in person.
