It looks like the Hubble Telescope has once again found another piece of ancient history in outer space. According to an I09 article, BX442 is a “grand design” spiral galaxy of absolute perfection, and should not exist. They’ve calculated that it dates back 10.7 billion years, making it the oldest galaxy to be discovered. Just to be sure, the WM Keck Observatory verified the results.
