And Nature Creates All

If you haven’t visited the National Geographic site in a while (like me – I’m sorry), then you’ve been missing some spectacular Photos of the Day. This gorgeous image by Benjamin Jakabek of a slumbering fur seal lying next to a Sally Lightfoot crab on Santiago Island (in the Galapágos Islands) shows the absolute beauty that nature creates. In fact, we’re all a living part of this planet’s eco-system, and must learn to co-exist as peacefully as these two seem to have.

It’s incredible to think that those living creatures who are closest to nature understands her rhythms the best. Instead of fighting the cycle, they have learned to adapt to it and live as harmoniously as possible. Of course, as we watch those NatGeo shows, we are repeatedly reminded that the nature is not kind but it does seem to have an overall plan. There is no order of importance, as all living creatures are required to participate in this eco-system for it to function properly and continuously. Would that we could actually understand that we humans are also a vital part that has an equal responsibility to all that nature creates. We’re not the top of the food chain, but we are a part of that chain and are responsible for keeping that chain intact.
