Believing Means Everything

Navy Seals are among the most feared warriors in the world. The video above shows why. Such dedication to your craft will inspire that same level of excellence in others. That’s hard to do, but so worth it. Master Chief Paul Tharp is but one example in this elite group of unique individuals.

We got another hard lesson taught to us this weekend as we heard the news that a brave group of men had lost their battle against belief. This is first hand proof that belief will not only carry a person through hardship, but it will make that person do just about anything in order to sustain that belief.

Our actions are not always going to be good because bad intentions will color them. And sometimes they’ll be actions that we think are great, but it won’t have the desired consequences. But the one thing that keeps the action going is our belief, because that comes from within.

Whatever outcome we seek, we have to be aware that there are other beliefs out there that will compete with our own. The world isn’t always a friendly place. Until we find a universal belief that we can all share, there will always be the opportunity for grief. What we do with that grief shows how strong our own belief is.

For those brave and talented men who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that our beliefs stayed safe, they will be remembered by those who loved them as well as those who fought them. That’s the mark they leave for us to believe in. And their brothers and sister in service will carry on where they left off to ensure that their sacrifice isn’t forgotten.

Believing does mean everything. It’s what we do with those beliefs through our own actions that will count the most.
