Cloud Cities In Berlin

As I’m such an avid fan of flying, this exhibit is really whetting my appetite to play in the clouds. Cloud Cities is an exhibit at the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum by Argentinian artist Tomas Saraceno. There are twenty clear orbs full of either water or plants that are fully interactive. You can go inside them (hopefully you get galoshes for the water one) to play or even climb on top of one to experience what floating on a cloud would be like. How much better can it get. Well, all of the orbs are interconnected, so when someone moves in one, other connecting orbs will reverberate with that movement. Tomas wanted to tell the story that everything connects together and affects one another. Wow, ethereal yet deep. If you’re in Germany, go see this exhibit and let me know what it’s like. It’ll be open until January 15, 2012
