Check out this amazing time-lapsed video called “Ocean Sky” by Alex Cherney at Terrastro.com. It won the overall winner award at the STARMUS astrophotography competition, and it’s easy to see why as it combines two awe-inspiring forces of nature: the ocean and the sky. Wow, Australia has such an amazing star-gazing landscape! Check out more of Alex’s jaw-dropping videos on his site, because it is unreal…
The night sky is one of the most stupendous sights to behold because of its beauty and its immensity. Brilliant flashes shimmer like diamonds against a velvet background that allows us to create what we want in our minds. Of course many of us can’t see it as Alex does in his part of the world, because of the light pollution created by an ever-increasing urban sprawl. What I wouldn’t give to be able to stretch out on a blanket and just stare up at the stars and let my mind loose to contemplate…everything (and perhaps nothing as it sometimes should).
And this brings me back to a much-needed respite from certain topics in order to find the beauty that is all around us. It’s a great counteraction to the harsh realities of life that are in upheaval around us as well – which actually is a great thing because of the beauty that is opening up because of this paradigm shift. Along with others, I am starting to feel like I can breathe for the first time (in a long time) because change is in the air and it smells so sweet. My mind has opened like a fragile flower and the words and ideas are starting to come back to me after a long hibernation. Years ago, this blog would have been impossible for me to do. But now, because I am embarking on a new path, I look forward to finding new opportunities for creativity to inspire and I’m finding them everywhere – even in topics I don’t care much for. And I’m also discovering amazing people who brings further inspiration into my world.
