Natalie Warne is young but is driven by a belief: Anonymous Extraordinaries are the power behind any movement. She’s absolutely right about that. Look around you. See a project, any project, trying to come to life. Is it the belief of the creator that brings it into being? Partially. Alone, that creator would never be successful in reaching that dream. It’s when anonymous people start to rally behind it that success becomes possible.
But what we need right now is more than youthful exuberance, though it’s a powerful start. We need all people to believe in any dream. Because, when people start to believe that reality isn’t the limiting factor, then possibilities do become endless. Your age is not a problem. Young, older, or really old…none of it matters if something sets your soul on fire. A soul afire means that the light will illuminate the darkness around so that the surroundings can be seen. The light becomes a beacon for others who are looking for the way out. Each one of us has a light, though sometimes it’s been smothered by a lack of air. But if you look inside you, deep inside of you, then you just might see that flicker that’s been trying to get your attention for oh so long.
Age is a number. That’s all it’ll ever be. Sure, people around you will want to fit you into that comfortable box with an appropriate label. But that’s their problem, not yours. Your age reminds you of what you’ve learned, and what is still necessary to learn. It’s hard to ignore those voices around you that try to tell you what is right and what is wrong. That’s up to you to decide, and to live with the consequences of your decisions. YOU know what’s right and what’s wrong.
Look around you. Do you agree with what you see? Or do you know that deep down in your gut, what you see isn’t what you’re getting. Activism is not just done by the fringe. Activism is the act of fighting for what you believe in with all of your might. Activism has started projects great and small in the physical world as well as the conceptual. The call may come early for some, and later for others. It’s the actions that result from answering that call that makes you who you are. So, who are you?
