Well, our country is having another birthday, or should I say, another celebration of Independence Day. Like every other year, we will gather with family and friends and rejoice in being together. Fireworks, drinks and food galore, and hopefully lots of laughter and joy for everyone around our nation.
Seeing what’s happening around the world, we’ll probably reminisce on what started all of this for us. 235 years ago, we fought to create our new national identity and stand independent of our oppressors. We chose to fight for our strong beliefs of liberty and justice for all. 235 years later, we’re in a new fight for independence from ourselves.
Lessons came and lessons went:
- A nation held together by a common vision of democracy
- Abolition of slavery
- Civil war where family fought family
- Women’s suffrage
- Fight for civil rights
- Dangers of denying freedoms: prohibition, literature bans, and much more
- World wars and battles on foreign soil
- Tyranny
- Terrorism
Our country’s history is full of trying times that built this nation to the beacon that it was. But somewhere along the way, we lost that light. And regressed.
Fortunately, there are so many people out there, who are slowing coming into their own, that are fighting to reestablish what we once were. It’s going to be a tough fight against those who have chosen the path of our enemies of old. They choose to read from this country’s Constitution, but ignore it’s Declaration of Independence. It still holds true that we are “endowed with certain unalienable rights…that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”. Our fight is still going strong, and it’s a noble cause: It is our right to be who we chose to be, and not what others choose for us. We may have taken many painful steps since our days of infancy, but we still have a ways to go before we can say that we accomplished what we started those many years ago. We can take comfort in the fact that we’re not alone. All over the world, people are doing the same.
So, let’s remember this celebration of independence for what it is: Our fight for equality for all. We’re all in this together, and together we can succeed.
Have a happy and safe 4th!

With out love, love, turn out to be boring. Express their love thru love, work whilst it happens with none ulterior motive. They should come to appreciate your partner and show love romance.
