Believing Means Everything

Navy Seals are among the most feared warriors in the world. The video above shows why. Such dedication to your craft will inspire that same level of excellence in others. That’s hard to do, but so worth it. Master Chief Paul Tharp is but one example in this elite group of unique individuals.

We got another hard lesson taught to us this weekend as we heard the news that a brave group of men had lost their battle against belief. This is first hand proof that belief will not only carry a person through hardship, but it will make that person do just about anything in order to sustain that belief. Continue reading

And Then There Is Simply Beautiful

And sometimes there is simply beauty that stares back at us by its sheer existence.

Art That Makes You REALLY Think

– found through artinfodotcom tweet -> Al Farrow
-> Catherine Clark Gallery

Honestly, when I first saw this story, I had a moment of shock. This piece might offend some of you, but it will make you think about consequences.

Sculptor, Al Farrow, is currently showing his New Reliquaries at the Catherine Clark Gallery in San Francisco. Needless to say, this is such a statement for how violence and religion seem interconnected. Many won’t like that statement, but unfortunately the evidence is all around us everywhere.

That these pieces are simultaneously beautiful and deadly is the most immediate impression. That they hold human remains, as they are reliquaries, puts out the most interconnected message of all three symbols. They remind us of the capability for good and bad that man holds in his hands. Our choices make the inevitable conclusion of our true intentions.

Al Farrow has made many different forms of his messages in his career as a sculptor. You will have to go to his site to see the true impact of his intentions. There is nothing more worthwhile than hearing a man’s message as it’s expressed from his soul.

Fascination

Have you ever been so obsessed about something, but don’t really get why you’re fascinated? I’ve been going through this phase for quite a while with an unknown car that I frequently pass by on the street. Seriously, it’s not anything extraordinary as far as looks go. Just some 70’s muscle car that I can’t name because I suck at remembering all of their names. I think that it might be something like a GTO, but I doubt it because my husband would have been drooling with me. There are just too many of them from that amazing era, which to me was the peak of American-built cars with hair-blazing power and gorgeous masculine beauty. Continue reading

Warning to Newcomers – Nothing Light Here

Just a friendly warning to newcomers who feel they’ve stumbled on chewing gum as they crossed this blog’s threshold:

Like any cop says to a passerby of an accident scene, “Nothing (light) to see here, so just keep moving!”

The contents here vary in lightness, and they all have an underlying interlinked message. I hope that you choose to stay but it’s all up to you. That’s the beauty of inspiration: you’re free to choose it or move along.

I guess that I owe Epic Fail an apology as I didn’t meet his expectations. I know that you can’t make everyone happy, so I don’t make any promises that I can’t keep. He came thinking that he’d be watching a football video. Yes, there are a couple of football videos here to watch, but this isn’t a sports site. I know what it feels to be disappointed, and though there’s a lot of it in life, sorry that you’re unhappy because of your visit here. I know that the Net can be tricky since you’re only getting a peek before entering the rabbit hole. I guess his rabbit hole he arrived through didn’t have any warning signs posted. He moved on to the Hackers Can Go Legit post and said “Are Common Ideas This kind of Idiotic????”. And he really wasn’t impressed with Beauty in Motion, “many thanks for absolutely nothing”. Word Maps also left him cold, “I personally wont worry now days”.

So instead of his comments being lost, I decided to post this warning to those like him. We will probably have divergent interests, so to each their own. We’re free to choose where we want to hang at. Happy journeys through the Net to all of you explorers, and thanks for stopping by.

p.s. There are posts that I just want to forward, and some posts that will leave me sarcastic. You’ll be able to tell when I don’t agree with the info.

And They Don’t See The Irony Now?

Please tell me that someone else sees the irony in this NY Times piece: At a Hacker Conference, Plenty of Friendly Feds. If you’ve been reading some of my posts, then you already know that I have been keenly watching the latest happenings in the hacking world. Continue reading

Another Thought For The Day – Find Your Voice

Hi everyone! While I was perusing the comments (from lots of unique starting points?!) and chuckling at the irony that they’re all hitting only those posts that others have commented on (I’ve written tons more than these), I was struck by how everyone is trying to reach out and touch someone. No matter what the reason, it’s good when you get acknowledgement that someone out there is actually hearing you. And I think that this is what is really missing in our world of today. With so many people trying to be heard in social media and media in general, they’re looking for ways to reach out from wherever they can to leave a visible mark on the ether wall of voices that says “I was here!”. After all, that’s how graffiti got its true start. Even the cavemen and every person since have done it.

Here’s my thought: Find your voice and use it to inspire while being creative. Continue reading

Thought For The Day – Read The Words

Note: I’m not the one who thinks that
government is a business.
And yes, I’m picking on all politicians.

This will hopefully help those of you who want to increase their business through the method of cold commenting. I’m not talking about sending a spontaneous comment to describe your own feelings, but a generic response that ignores someone else’s needs.

When it becomes apparent to your customers that whoever is in charge isn’t even reading the words of unhappy customers, much less listening to them, then you are going to affect your bottom line in a bad way. This is elementary and yet many still don’t get it.

Pay attention to your customers needs, because businesses are set up to fill those needs. Once a business drops the ball, then it becomes a game of fill in the hole they created. If you don’t make the hole in the first place, then you have succeeded in customer satisfaction. If you do make a cannonball of a crater, well, good luck fixing it. PR only goes so far, and memories are much longer than whatever promotion money can buy!

Business should not have an agenda, but they should have good products and service.
