Heaven On Earth

I’ve always loved the camera work of Randy Halverson and now it looks like I’ve found a musician who is equally enamored. BT has taken his music to another level by marrying it with the amazing time lapses that Randy is known for.  And with an album title like 13 Angels On My Broken Windowsill, you know that you’re in for a magical treat.

You’ve never seen stars until you’ve seen them through Randy’s lenses, and you’ve never heard beats until you hear them made by BT. The combination is orgasmic in a stellar way. Universal, even. The imagery is perfectly synced to the music and makes you gasp in delight. It’s Heaven on Earth. Give it a try. You’ll be glad you did.

– thanks for the point Reddit and YouTube

Make Merry

So, the holidays are here and we’re probably cringing at the typical Christmas songs. Listen to this first before you let the bahhumbug hit you, because it will give you an eargasm!!! Pentatonix is an extremely talented group of singers who take music to a level that is pretty rare.  Not only do they sing, but they also really get into the music. It’s giving me the chills. Listen, then thank Reddit for this find (at least for me who’s never heard of them). I love when musicians really get into their rhythm. It’s a joyful experience.

I may give Christmas songs another chance (maybe)…

Thought For The Day: Thoughts

We all love a good quote to give us the inspiration that we need to take another step forward into each new day. Whether that day be trying or light, we understand that those fellow travelers of life throughout the ages have experiences that allow us to understand life just a little better. Whenever Reddit comes up with a quote fest, you know that unusual quotes will be found. And in this post, there are quite a few and will probably grow within the next 24 hours (I hope). What are some of the most inspirational quotes that keep you going?

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.” — Ambrose Redmoon

And another of my favorite sources for quotes is Great Mind Quotes – follow them on Twitter if you want daily inspiration!

There are just so many things to learn, aren’t there? NEVER STOP!!!

Monday With Florence and the Machine

So, I was finding so much good stuff on Reddit and I wanted to share this beautifully poignant song by Florence and the Machine called Shake It Out. To understand how she feels about music, you just need to listen to this song or perhaps listen to her motivations as she describes on their site:

“I want my music to sound like throwing yourself out of a tree, or off a tall building, or as if you’re being sucked down into the ocean and you can’t breathe,” says Florence Welch. “It’s something overwhelming and all-encompassing that fills you up, and you’re either going to explode with it, or you’re just going to disappear.”

Seriously, how is this not the best description of a good reason to create something that not only touches you, but also touches others around you?!? And truly, their music is really everything that she wants. It’s uplifting and soul-opening and everything found in the most perfect sound that a musician can make.

Magic really does exist and it comes from the imagination of those who open their hearts and souls to it. Anyone tells you otherwise, well, they’ve never experienced that perfect moment of creation!

Now, enjoy them again in Drumming Song (really powerful – I am in love with this song):

Incredible Reddit Photos

I saw this cute picture of high school students dressed up as sports trophies. And guess what, these are the winners of the high school costume contest? Yep, Redditer tauslb wanted to share the creativity that comes from his high school, and I’ve gotta say that they really do win the top spot, don’t you think?

And then silverbill presents the beauty of nature in this image from Morning On the Lake. It’s got to be one of the beautifully tranquil images that I’ve ever seen!

The final bit of inspiration shows up in this incredible photograph by travel photographer Conor MacNeill (aka TheFella – check out his sites!). It’s an image of the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich, a labor of love that took James Thornhill over 19 years to accomplish. This is the epitome of following a dream and turning it into something unimaginable. What started out as a tribute for the British Royal Navy for a dining hall is now a place that captures the mind of every visitor who graces this hall.

Inspiration really is all around us. No matter what you’re doing, don’t let go of your dreams because these images from Reddit are just a few of the reminders that we live in a pretty incredible world full of imagination and beauty. There is so much to experience in life, and sometimes we all need a reminder of the extraordinary moments that life has to offer.

– thanks to Reddit for some pretty incredible photos of inspiration

Happily Stuck

If you’re in need of some uplifting, then you might want to check out this video shared by Reddit and then go read some of the happy stories that go with it. We’re all stuck in moments that we wish would just move on, but typically, someone does something so that you become happily stuck in the moment…just like this. And how perfect that they picked the song Lean On Me to help everyone get through a frustrating time. It’s moments like this that help you see the good in humanity. Just goes to show you that we’ve all got it in us to make the day a little brighter, and that sharing really is caring.

– thank Reddit 😀

Test With Humor

It’s good to see that even professors can have a sense of humor, or in this case a test with humor. EccentricOddity put up this deja vu moment in a Psych test that provides you with that moment when…Hey, didn’t that just happen?!? So, if you’re feeling like you’re just not having fun at school, then maybe you should check out this class. This prof is definitely going to keep you on your toes! 😉  What an awesome way to learn.

– thanks again, Reddit, for the smiles

Speaking of…Matthew Curry

Speaking of Intoxicated Demons, I was browsing through their site and came across another street artist by the name of Matthew Curry whose work is steeped in color, movement, and mystery. The piece above called Parade 3 seems to be a mix of mythological serpents and faceless humanoids approaching us in frenzied movements that can be associated with parades. Most of his work seems to contrast the anonymity of man against the vibrancy of nature, perhaps struggling against one another for dominance? This piece really spoke to my inner chaos that’s been running supreme of late. Absolute spot on representation of the struggle of life, in my book.

So glad I stopped at Intoxicated Demon’s site. I’m on their email list, but never get the chance to see a show personally because they’re in Germany. SIGH….maybe someday. If you haven’t already go check both Intoxicated Demons and Matthew Curry.

And check out Matthew in his Vimeo video, A Day in the Life, to hear what inspires him:

Walls With Tones

Cuded did a pictorial share of Poland-based graffiti artist Przemek Blejzyk that needs to be seen. The particular piece that blew my mind is this one in Gorzów Wielkopolski that I’m simply calling Flight. And while you’re at it, go take a look at  his blog to check out more of his amazing street art. There is a lot to see and all of it is beautiful yet deep and sometimes even humorous. It looks like he shows at Intoxicated Demon, a gallery in Germany that shows some incredible artists.

Isn’t this an incredible piece that gets your mind racing? Suddenly, I’m feeling pretty light and inspired. Gorgeous work!!!! Cuded finds some amazing artists.
