This short by Dean Heezen imagines what a playful sax tune might look like to its creator. Fall into the depth that a sax player falls into his own music. Brilliant choreography to a few melodious tunes that come to life in the form of a sexy woman. You’ll have a smile on your face after watching this.
This fortune has never felt more right to me, because it’s what many people with true loves experience. Not true love of a person (though that can and does happen), but true love of a dream. We’re born with dreams that we’re rarely aware of, unless we’re paying attention to our inner conversation. The talking is quiet but it is constant, just awaiting your attention. But those quiet inner conversations steer us unknowingly towards every skill we’ll learn, every course that we’ll enroll in, for a reason. And every lesson that we learn strengthens our foundation so that our dreams can become our destiny. That moment when we’re doing something that fulfills us completely. Following your passion is a good thing. Turning your passion into your destiny is the ultimate dream. Don’t let anyone talk you out of your destiny.
Sayings can give us powerful incentive, and one by Jean-Paul Sartre is a powerful one indeed. What is life worth? Or more importantly, what is life worth to you? The only way to come up with the true value is to find out how much you would risk in order to live the life that you envision. How far off the beaten path that you’re willing to go is how worthwhile you view that potential life that lies tantalizingly within your field of dreams. Only you know what life is worth. So risk something for the life you want. It’s the only way that you’ll live life to the fullest. Don’t you think?
We all understand that the ability to connect globally because of the Internet has been life-changing for many. Whatever we may think, we get out of the Internet what we put into it. There is a wealth of information available for the gathering if you’re willing to dive into the ether. Just as there is immense opportunities to share yourself with others if you so choose. No matter your views, you can’t escape the Internet’s voice because it is everywhere.
Much of our world is looked at through the lens of fiscal responsibility and ownership. But is that all there is to building anything? Of course not! Money may provide the lubricant to the process, but it is the incalculable amount of sheer brain power that has built the Internet into what it is today. What was once a way to maintain communications in case of catastrophe is now a way to create bridges between people anywhere in the world. No longer are we limited by physical conditions, because we have a portal that opens any conversation that you could want at any time, any day, anywhere. Good and bad, which is what makes up life.
So, are the investments that helped to build the backbone the only viable claim to the Internet? What about all of the content that is created every minute of every day by people around the world – people who aren’t associated with corporate behemoths who want to claim ownership. We have traveled through the many ages of humanity with the idea that things around us can be claimed by a person, usually the strongest or one with the most resources. But there is much more to the idea of any property than its physical characteristics. Some things are meant to be shared by the world, because only then will its true value be created. It is meant to be a flicker that enlivens the flame of inspiration, so that we keep dreaming even more grander ideas than the one that started the process.
That’s what the Internet has become – a treasure meant to be shared by the world. Not to be owned by those who have to most resources. We are leaving the era of “he with the most wins”. With limited resources available in today’s world, we need to relearn the concept of sharing – that idea that we each had to learn as children. And this is something that the Internet is capable of accomplishing for every person in every nation of the world.
So why is the control of the Internet so important? Well, it is a conversation that is highlighting the old world concepts and new world vision. We’re learning that ownership is leading to an enormous amount of dangerous conflict and inequality. And we’re also seeing that a new generation of idea sharing is helping to build a vibrant platform that needs to keep the Internet as open and free as possible. This topic covers a lot of concerns such as paying-for-share, safety, civil liberties, society, and so much more. And it needs a new conversation to bring in new thought processes and objectives. Like this one here. See where your position lies with those involved in this conversation. Because it’s addressing how we want our society to think and act in the future. And we’re at a turning point in history that demands that we build society to create a prosperous future for all. Without the usual monetary entrance fee that has always fenced in what could really be.
Hi everyone. I don’t know about you, but it’s been an exhausting week. So, if you don’t mind, I’m giving my head a much needed rest. Just wanted to wish everyone a great weekend, and to say to everyone to keep on looking for inspiration. It’s all around you, waiting to help light your fires of creativity.
Unless, it’s just tired. Then, do yourself a favor and get some rest. Your creations will wait for you. : )
So Wired gave us a sneak peek behind the data stream at Google, so that we could see what one of their data centers looks like. The images are incredible in their colorful complexity. If you think it’s all computers, then you’re really not seeing the big picture. If you get a chance, go read the Wired article as it gives great insight into the behind-the-scenes of Google. And if you want to experience it briefly yourself, then watch this video:
And check out some more pictures of a data center as shared by Reddit. It’s clear that there is a lot more to a search engine than meets the eye. Especially when you get a peek underneath it all. Simply mind-blowing!
So, if you want to get geeky on how to make your own special ring for a special occasion (say, a wedding), then you need to check out this video by triggeron. I’m only slightly familiar with machining, but this guy makes the whole process beyond interesting and educational. The fact that he’s also giving technical information is a really big plus. The fact that he creates tools that he needs to do the job is brilliantly well-rounded (oh look, a little ring pun). Reddit finds/offers the most amazing videos, and once again, they’ve done it with this find! Definitely check out the whole video, because it’s vastly entertaining and looks like fun.
Those bygone days are so memorable for the music and the atmosphere. And Rock It For Me by Caravan Palace is all about making your day more memorable because it put a smile on your face. It has it all: catchy rhythms, drama, sweet dance moves by a robot, and UFOs. What’s not great about this combo?
And while you’re at it, go check out the rest of their music, because it really is full of fun and fantasy. I’m floating in happiness at the moment. How about you?
– Thanks to Vimeo for featuring some awesome videos, as always!
Studiocanoe is in love with his chosen life’s path: Illustration. In fact, he wants us to understand just how happy he is with his love. And it’s easy to feel as you listen to the poem that accompanies his quirky world of lines, shade, and Victorian society. His drawing style is reminiscent of Edward Gorey and yet his rhythm is much more…lively. Sit back and enjoy his recitation. Then go and draw something so that you too can understand the magic that comes from creativity.
Awesome video. Awesome illustrator. Brilliant poet with a grasp of rhythmic vocabulary that amazes. Can’t wait to see more from him!
Eye Candy always lets me discover new talents, and here’s another illustrator whose lines are really quite moving. Charlie Bowater is a self-taught illustrator, but all you’ll see is raw beauty in her drawings. The one above is a work-in-progress which I absolutely fell in love with because of the beautiful movement that still holds mystery within its lines. You really should check out Charlie’s Tumblr because she’s got a lot of beautiful work, and she also has an amazing eye for other inspirations as well.
Every artist is inspired by others. We learn as much from the view through someone else’s eyes as we do from our own. But the one thing in common with the love of creativity is that it all starts with a feeling and moves on to something tangible.
Our censorship fight with the US Congress is far from over, as they continue to attempt to break the Internet with legislations driven by crony capitalism in the US and abroad. Though SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) have been pulled back for now, more continue to follow them. Now, we have to contend with ACTA(more) and TPP(2), which are international attempts to censor and control the Internet for the sake of commerce. And if that's not enough, now there's CISPA (more).
Go to EFF.org to keep up with the legal news that impacts our world and its technology. The greed won't stop, so we have to stay vigilant as well. Especially now that lobbyists are admitting out loud that they expect to be rewarded for their "contributions": Read it on TorrentFreak
