Trains of Thought

After my attempt at free association this weekend, I realized that my problem isn’t too little inspiration but too much of it. Instead of clarity, I now have other projects that want to come to life! It’s hard to finish a thought when another one takes it place and moves in a completely opposite direction. My notepad is full of ideas that just pop out of nowhere. As I attempted to understand what my head looks like on the inside, I decided to create a think map by jotting down the first thing that popped into my head – see the results from just a few minutes of effort below. No wonder why creatives get blocked. They’re overwhelmed by all of the stimuli that surrounds them! Is this why some artists are so prolific? I am excited for the new prospects, but I also miss the structure that’s usually evident in my technical projects. I guess that this will come when my creative side has matured a little?
