Comics Can Open The Mind

This won’t be a long post, because I want you to read the whole interview(s) put up by Joe Mulvey (click on the microphone above). Joe runs a blog, DisCiPLinEd IrrEveREncE (wow, that wasn’t easy to type), where he shares his love for comics and tries to convert non-believers to the comic cause. Needless to say, this blog, or experiment, or whatever you call it is genius (and painful at times)!

I grew up with comics and love many different types of genres (though I’m more partial to art that draws me before the story, but they both have to be good). After having lived in Japan for so long, I still read many manga titles. Not only do I adore the great art, but I also get to practice my Japanese. Since I was always moving every few years during my youth, books in any form were my constant companions. I really believe that comics, along with other books, were instrumental in opening up my mind to all of the possibilities out there. If you haven’t tried them, well, now might be a great time. It doesn’t matter what your age is, because creativity is inspiring at any age. The stuff coming out today in the comic world has to be seen to be believed. Absolutely amazing stuff waiting to be discovered. So go and have some fun reading comics!
