Artists Speak With Images

Never let it be said that people are not creative when battling a problem. Since the start of the protests happening in the US and worldwide, there has been rampant abuse by authority figures. Yet, no matter how they try to stop the outcries, the situation leaves them grasping only air…or in this case a can of pepper spray. The pepper spraying started around the country since day 1 of the Occupy movement, and it was done by police who are clearly misidentifying the threat scenario. One too many practice runs against their own phobias, or maybe they play too much Nintendo?

Well, the world is setting its voice free again against police brutality. I saw this link in my Twitter feed and practically fell of my chair from laughing. And it’s being done with a lot of creativity and a tongue-in-cheek approach that is hilarious and yet a sign of our times. Nothing is sacred to the police, and the feelings are being returned in all of its technicolor glory. Check out the Pepper Spraying Cop Tumblr page, and maybe even add your two cents. Well, your image of your two cents, in this case. This is freedom of expression at its most clever!

p.s. I used to give the police some benefit of the doubt, but it’s becoming impossible to justify their actions…especially when they border on the criminally insane.
