Dreamlike

I keep coming up with the word, dreamlike, when I look at the images by Tessar Lo. An Indonesian artist based in Toronto, Tessar has been hard at work for some time, though the biggest compliment he gets (and likes) is when someone asks if he had fun making his works.

When I look at his images, I feel a sense of calm come about, as though they’re trying to say that,”Yes, you did dream that, and it was as amazing as you remember.” This image, Meeting Place, really gives off that feeling of calm longevity that you get when you’re in that twilight state of consciousness and are entering your dreams. His world is one of great color and fantastical images that portray a reality that would be really sweet to be a part of, just like many dreams you’ve probably had.

Go check out his works on his site, and read some of his interviews by Ion Magazine and Erratic Phenomenon for his 2010 show, Everything We Wanted In Our Nostalgic Future. And check out his work on his blog (news section) to see his current creations. They’re pretty wonderful. I mean, how can you not like a man who can look at clouds from his room for inspiration?

– thanks I Heart My Art for finding him
