The Art of Making series is back with the making of a Flamenco guitar. This video, Alma Flamenca, was put up on Vimeo by Dimitris Ladopoulos (of Deep Green Sea in Athens,Greece) and condenses 299 hours of painstaking craftsmanship into 3 incredible minutes accompanies by the making of a beautiful sound. It’s impossible not to be drawn in by the sounds of a guitar, and especially one that has plays Flamenco music and holds a timeless place in Spanish art and history. The artisan in this video is Vasilis Lazarides, and he makes much more than just guitars. Just like Deep Green Sea makes much more than quick documentaries.
