Sometimes English Isn’t Easy

Mathieu Cuvelier and Lucy Crook worked with The Viral Factory to create this adorable video of Cambodian kids trying to say the hardest word in English. Granted it’s a nonsensical word, but it’s also our most famous one: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. If you think that it’s intimidating for a native speaker to say, then imagine how it looks to a student learning English as a second language. But I’ve got to say that they all do an amazingly good job of getting the word right and doing it with such flair.

Sometimes English isn’t easy, but that also true of other languages as well. They each require unique ways of learning, but the effort is always well worth the results when you see the understanding (and appreciation) of the listener.

Learn more and Mathieu and Lucy’s work with About Asia Schools at their site, and check out volunteer opportunities if you’re interested (and donations as well).
