A Reminder Of Some Place Precious – HOME

Wow, so this is what an aurora looks like from outer space? And isn’t Earth beautiful?

NASA is our space lens that lets us see our world from a whole new perspective. Most of us will never have this opportunity to see our planet as the true cradle of our civilization that it is. After such an experience, every astronaut comes back with a new understanding of just how precious our home really is. It would be worth it to create an immersive video room that allows every single human being on the planet to feel what it’s like to be suspending out in space, looking down on your home from a great distance than most of ever will attain.

From Space Quotations:

As I looked down, I saw a large river meandering slowly along for miles, passing from one country to another without stopping. I also saw huge forests, extending along several borders. And I watched the extent of one ocean touch the shores of separate continents. Two words leaped to mind as I looked down on all this: commonality and interdependence. We are one world.

— John-David Bartoe

This is an important conversation that the space program and science allow us to start. Our world as seen from another perspective. Suddenly, what’s truly important becomes abundantly clear in a place where you’re truly alone.
