I was caught by a post on My Modern Met that was showing some images of the Museum HR Giger Bar. We all know about his surrealistic imagery that has been the model for so many moments in horror history- like Alien. Talk about a place that blows your mind and lets you live in his mind at the same time! After searching some more on Youtube, I came across the video above that had some close-ups of the bar’s details. The skeleton architecture juxtaposed with the tranquil music at the video’s beginning makes the whole thing seem like a surreally quiet moment in a horror movie leading up to a climatic event. Find out more about the artist and his bar by reading this article.
p.s. The silly moment of the photographer at the end is hilarious.
I’ve had coffee there 😀 what’s surreal is where it’s located! It’s in a tiny little castle town in Switzerland near my own, right next to his museum which is a must before going for a frothy coffee in a bony chair.
I’ve only been to Switzerland once, and didn’t even know that this existed. Now I’m kicking myself as it would have been a sight to see, and that’s hard to say since I’m talking about Switzerland. Yum, coffee and bony atmosphere – AWESOME! : )
