The Imaginary Foundation – Something So Sublime

I find artistic endeavors to be so awesome and necessary to life. No matter what type the creation, its creator’s inner voice speaks out with such richness and depth that I feel a trembling inside my body. It’s so intense that I can see the hairs standing up on my arms, and the warmth suffusing my body only generates an absolute feeling of contentment. It must be the atoms and molecules rushing through my bloodstream, telling me that I am truly alive at this very moment in time. What could be more sublime than that?

Well, today, I found something that is doing it again. And when I went to seek more information on this monumental group, I was awed at what I found during my journey: Undivided Mind. This tour started in November 2010, and is currently touring the world as we read. THIS is something that has to be experienced, because I know that the online version is giving me the chills! I want to be immersed in just such a room.

Here’s one of my favorite videos of this mind-stopping collection, We Are All Connected:

Science is another side where I see art in a different form. The creators in this field are just as passionate as any artist that I’ve seen. When you hear Neil deGrasse Tyson or Carl Sagan speak about our cosmos, it’s simply music in a different tempo. The video that you just watched is proof that beauty is abundantly available in these endeavors as well.

The Imaginary Foundation is a think tank in Switzerland that put together this beautiful tour because they wanted to show us the intersection between science and art. Their philosophy is that imagination is the foundation to all learning. It’s easy to see that great minds with great imagination can do wondrous things if they so choose.

Once again, I can thank Big Think for helping me to find this amazing collective. Here’s their interview with the director of the Imaginary Foundation.

There really isn’t much that I can say after reading that interview because it says it all…beautifully. Enjoy the read! I know that I’m still trying to get my atoms and molecules under control.
